The Junior Auxiliary of Hattiesburg is seeking nominations for its 2011 Humanitarian of the Year Award.
The Humanitarian of the Year Award is given annually to a person in our area who has given his or her time, talents and efforts in order to better the community and its citizens. The recipient will receive a $500 donation to be given to the 501(c)(3) organization of his/her choice. In addition, a $500 scholarship will be awarded in the recipient’s name to a deserving area high school senior. Former recipients include Mr. Jack Kennedy, Rev. Henry Craft, Dr. Etoile Dubard, Dr. D. B. Conerly, Rev. Bill Prout, Mr. Joey Pace and Mr. Russ Hendley.
The Junior Auxiliary of Hattiesburg would like to encourage your organization to nominate a deserving volunteer to receive recognition for their many contributions. Enclosed is a nomination form. Additional forms may be obtained as needed. You may attach up to four additional pages to the nomination form, if needed. The nomination must be received on or before September 15, 2011 and may be mailed to the P.O. Box above.
The Humanitarian of the Year Award will be announced at a special press conference on October 3, 2011. The recipient will also be acknowledged again formally while serving as our guest at the annual Junior Auxiliary Charity Ball, which will be held on November 11, 2011 at the Lake Terrace Convention Center.
